Dr. Alan Goetz is a pompous and arrogant radio child psychologist in The New Arrival. He was played by David Warner.

Early Life[]

Before getting his own radio show, Dr. Goetz had studied child psychology, as it was revealed that he once studied with Dr. Spitzmacher. Not too much was known after that, except for him getting his radio show entitled "Good Psychology", and being the author of a book called "The Art of Ignoring Your Child", where his mottos are; 1. "Good psychology beats bad behavior every time.", and 2. "Ignore it, ignore it, ignore it."

Current Life[]

During the beginning of the episode, it is shown that Dr. Goetz has a strong hatred towards the radio show of Lothar, as he claims it to have lack of taste. He even claims that he will never lose his time slot to Lothar. 2 minutes later, Bonnie Lutzmyar, Dr. Goetz's producer, introduces Dr. Goetz to his first patient, then is introduced to his frequent flyer patient, Nora White, about her daughter, Felicity, who happens to have violent tendencies. During the show, Rona, Dr. Goetz and Bonnie's boss, says that the show is being canceled and their time slot will go to Lothar. Dr. Goetz then came up with a plan to save his show; "Good Psychology" will be broadcasted from Nora's home until Felicity is a well-behaved and functioning little girl. So against Rona's orders, Dr. Goetz is making a house call. Bonnie and Rona even went with Dr. Goetz to be part of the interview, in Rona's case mostly, she is there because she doesn't trust Dr. Goetz. After a half an hour at Nora's house, they had reason to believe that Nora was not all there when they saw a picture of Douglas MacArthur, whom Nora says if Felicity's father and was due back from the war any day, when in reality, Douglas MacArthur died on April 5, 1961, 32 years before the current day. Nevertheless, they will not leave without seeing Felicity first. The trio came across a hallway with purple bubble gum all over the walls and floor, which leads to Felicity's bedroom. Rona saw Felicity behind her and follows her. Dr. Goetz and Bonnie got into Felicity's room and saw all those toys in the room, Dr. Goetz came to the conclusion that Nora has a fantasy child. And on Felicity's bed is Nora, who is now dead because Felicity killed her by choking her with a jump rope. They both tried making a break for it, saying it's not worth staying with the radio station, but they end up trapped in another hallway. While Bonnie and Dr. Goetz were arguing, a ceiling with sharp blades was lowering behind Bonnie, spinning and killing Bonnie. Bonnie's body falls against Dr. Goetz, making him unconscious.

Final Fate[]

When Dr. Goetz came to, he found himself strapped to a chair by the arms and legs. Nora gets Felicity so she can speak to Dr. Goetz. When Felicity came in, Dr. Goetz convinces Felicity to let untie him so he can give her a huge hug. When she released him, he started to choke Felicity in anger, calling her Nora as he still thinks it is Nora, but to he shock, Nora was standing at the doorway, scolding Dr. Goetz for choking Felicity. Much to his fear, he learns that Nora does have a daughter named Felicity, who was spoiled to death and who has been dead for 40 years and is now a deadly zombie. Nora says is what's keeping Felicity both alive and in pain. Nora even told Dr. Goetz that other doctors came to help Felicity, but failed and they all died in Nora's house. Those doctors were Dr. Lasilsky, Dr. Kassir, Dr. Pascalumier, and yes, Dr. Goetz late colleague, Dr. Spitzmacher. Now Dr. Goetz is doomed to share the same fate as the others, as his listens to Lothar on the radio, which Felicity loves, while repeating his motto to himself, "Ignore it, ignore it, ignore it."

It is stated that Dr. Alan was able to escape offscreen.
