-- DVD description for the episode

Plot

Luden Sandelton is the meek president of a company that manufactures bars of soap. When the advertising campaign for the latest line of soap is deemed a failure, Luden has no choice but to fire his artist wife Willa who designed the artwork for said campaign. However, the greedy and unfaithful Willa has her own deadly ideas about rectifying the situation.

Opening Segment

"Greetings hack and field fans. I hope you're in the mood for a little fiendly competition. It's that time of fear again. The annual All Crypt Die Cathalon! I've been working out like crazy to get ready. This year I'm really going for the cold. Kind of like the woman in tonight's tale. It's a putrid portrait of an up-and-coming young artist that's sure to leave a nasty taste on your palette. I call it "99 & 44/100% Pure Horror."

Closing Segment

99closing

"Looks like Willa's changing her school of painting. From art gooveau to ghost-Impressionism. That'll get her into Ooze Who. Okay, kiddies, it's time for my big event. Wish me luck..."

[a spear goes through the Crypt Keeper's chest]

"Caught it! Ah, the kill of victory."

Trivia

  • The title comes from the old Ivory Soap advertising slogan that their soap is 99 and 44/100 percent pure. John Frankenheimer also directed a 1974 film entitled 99 and 44/100% Dead.
